Position Description

Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe work environment by assisting with the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and training programs. This role works closely with management, supervisors, and employees to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator also conducts inspections, investigates incidents, and recommends corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular job site and facility safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist in coordinating and delivering safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incident reports, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor the use and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability to employees.
  • Communicate safety expectations and standards to employees and subcontractors.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job site huddles.
  • Stay current on changes to OSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety through proactive engagement and employee involvement.
Assist with workers' compensation claim management and return-to-work programs.

Position Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in safety coordination, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or transportation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and present safety information effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic report preparation.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to work in office and field environments, including construction and industrial job sites.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. during inspections and site visits.


Frequent travel to various job sites as required.
