Advancement Operations Assistant

Description:

Position Summary: The Advancement Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting advancement services; scheduling and implementation of office events designed for donors, prospective donors and special campus guests; and other activities to enhance office operations. The assistant works with the Director of Advancement Services and the Director of Donor Services to provide consistent advancement services and hospitality activities related to institutional initiatives. The assistant also provides organizational, and administrative support to the Vice President for Advancement and University Engagement (VPAUE).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Director of Advancement Services to process gift batches and gift acknowledgment, providing backup for the director
  • Assist with development of advancement reports and funding proposals
  • Process departmental expenses and assist with management of departmental budget
  • Manage the AUE office filing system, both hardcopy and digital
  • Coordinate VPAUE calendar and coordinate AUE staff meetings
  • Assist with donor and prospective donor events both on-campus and off-campus
  • Assist with donor recognition banquet and special receptions/events throughout the year
  • Work with Director of Donor Services to host Auxilio meetings and special events
  • Welcome and serve guests to the AUE offices and suite
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This position is a full-time, non-exempt position in North Greenville's Advancement and University Engagement Office, located at the main campus in Tigerville, SC. The Advancement Operations Assistant reports to the Director of Advancement Services.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to Noon. Work with evening or early morning events required periodically.

TRAVEL

This position does not require travel. However, the Advancement Operations Assistant may be invited to attend events in the local area or nationally for training or information purposes.

  • Holds earned bachelor's degree from accredited institution.
  • Proven experience working with database software.
  • Experience in hospitality for special guests.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Active in a biblically faithful evangelical church, preferably one affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
  • Awareness of and appreciation for the work of the Southern Baptist Convention and Baptist state conventions.
  • Affirm an understanding of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  • Affirm understanding of the University's Statement on Human Flourishing.
  • Agree to abide by the employee handbooks, including community standards agreements.
  • Self-motivated and self-starting.
  • Possesses excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to the highest standards of personal and professional integrity.
