Certification: Current South Carolina Teacher's Certificate in Elementary Education

Experience: At least three years of successful classroom teaching and/or supervision experience preferred. Title 1 experience also preferred.

Skills: Competence in classroom teaching, school-community relations, and program evaluation.

Related Requirements:

Knowledgeable of curriculum, instruction, South Carolina Curriculum Standards, evaluation procedures, and financial operations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Serves as the TITLE I Curriculum Specialist for the TITLE I school, under the direction of the TITLE I District Coordinator and the principal of the TITLE I school.
  1. Responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of the TITLE I program at the school, intended to help all TITLE I teachers be aware of the activities of the program. Keeps TITLE I District Coordinator informed of school needs.
  1. Coordinates TITLE I activities, scheduling professional development activities in coordination with the needs of the TITLE I school as stated by the principals.
  1. Meets with TITLE I teachers and the district coordinator to share information on school progress.
  1. Works closely with principal of the TITLE I school to assure the proper utilization of TITLE I resources.
  1. Keeps TITLE I instructional staff informed of new materials and equipment and helps them with the selection of appropriate instructional materials and equipment.
  1. Prepares data analysis of TITLE I students at the school to ensure on-going measured progress and progress toward school wide model.
  1. Maintains TITLE I Equipment Inventory at the school.
  1. Coordinates professional development training activities with the TITLE I school.
  1. Stays current in reference to the guidelines and procedures relative to TITLE I.
  1. Models classroom lessons for teachers of TITLE I school. Keeps teachers informed of the innovative techniques that will improve student achievement at the school.
