Sanitation Manager

Position Summary

The Sanitation Manager is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the food manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, while leading the sanitation team to support safe and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor sanitation procedures for all equipment and production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and company standards.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule sanitation staff, conduct performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records for audits and inspections (MSS, SOP's, Allergen, and Protein Swabs)
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to resolve sanitation issues promptly.
  • Manage sanitation supplies and chemicals inventory; ensure proper handling and storage per OSHA standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Regulatory Compliance Rate: 100% compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP standards during audits and inspections.
  • Sanitation Completion Accuracy: 100% completion of scheduled sanitation tasks on time.
  • Microbiological Test Results: Zero positive pathogen findings in environmental and product testing.
  • Chemical Usage Efficiency: Maintain chemical usage within budget and safety limits.
  • Employee Training Compliance: 100% of the sanitation team trained on SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Downtime Reduction: Minimize production downtime caused by sanitation delays.
  • Audit Score Improvement: Maintain audit scores above 95% for sanitation programs.
  • Incident Rate: Zero sanitation-related safety incidents or chemical handling accidents.

Qualifications.

  • 3–5 years of sanitation management experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and humid environments.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
