As a BDC Maintenance Utility Associate, you will be an essential part of our Maintenance Team, dedicated to ensuring that all equipment within the BDC operates smoothly and efficiently. This entry-level position presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn about mechanical and electrical systems while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in hands-on training and learn safety protocols, as well as basic concepts related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including but not limited to forklift battery swaps and light bulb replacements.
  • Gain experience and progressively develop your skills in executing maintenance tasks, moving from simple to more complex tasks.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Mechanics to build foundational repair skills and assist with more advanced maintenance projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • A commitment to a flexible work schedule, with the ability to adapt to shifts as needed to meet facility demands.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic distribution/warehouse setting, understanding the related physical and environmental challenges.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, with the capacity to handle loads up to 70 pounds.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical school graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Strong focus on safety with a proven track record of adherence to safety practices.
  • Able to see and differentiate colors for safe equipment operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with specialized tools such as welders, torches, cranes, and voltmeters.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience operating maintenance and operations vehicles and equipment.
  • Proficient use of hand and power tools.
