We seek an experienced and collaborative Director of Preconstruction to lead our global Data Center market. This role supports our team based in Greenville, South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic objectives for the Data Center business unit, adjusting approaches according to unique market conditions.
  • Reshape and establish a construction operations team focused on executing EPCM and CM projects, expanding our engineering-centric service offering.
  • Set and uphold safety performance standards across the business unit.
  • Guide, evaluate, and support the Construction leadership team in their efforts.
  • Identify and apply market trends and new technological advancements.
  • Monitor business opportunities for profitable growth and support Business Development in securing new pursuits.
  • Represent Jacobs in design-build ventures alongside construction partners.
  • Drive gross margin growth as a percentage of revenue.
  • Provide resources and training for assessing and developing business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in key contract discussions.
  • Oversee the financial performance of projects against established business plans.
  • Collaborate across various lines of business and participate in necessary meetings and forums.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or a minimum of 10+ years of additional experience in progressively responsible positions may substitute for a degree.
  • 20 years of construction delivery experience, covering diverse models such as Design Build, CM, PMCM, and EPCM work.
  • Understanding of the sales process, including client presentation skills.
  • Experience across various markets including Electronics, Battery, Data Centers, EV Giga Factory, and Manufacturing.
  • International experience is desirable but not required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as needed.
