MHS is searching for dedicated married couples to take on the role of Full-Time Flex Houseparents. This fulfilling position involves residing in on-campus student homes, where you will provide essential care, mentorship, guidance, and support to a group of 8-13 students. As Flex Houseparents, you will be pivotal in fostering a family-oriented environment that encourages the academic, emotional, and social growth of the students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor students daily.
  • Manage household routines and maintain student schedules effectively.
  • Administer medications and ensure the health and well-being of students.
  • Transport students to activities while engaging in enjoyable and developmental recreational activities.
  • Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
  • Oversee budgeting and conduct household reporting.

Upon hiring, Flex Houseparents will rotate among various student homes, following a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. During weekdays, houseparents enjoy unscheduled time while students are attending school. Eventually, Flex Houseparents will transition into a Placed Houseparent role, allowing for a deeper connection and relationship development with a consistent group of students.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of $44,768.00 per person, totaling approximately $168,000 per couple, including free housing, meals during duty, and utilities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth is essential.
  • This position is intended for couples who have been legally married for at least two years.
  • Both partners must be 27 years of age or older.
  • Only three dependent children are allowed to reside in the student home.
  • Commitment to maintaining a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; alcohol consumption is prohibited during duty hours.
  • Pet restrictions apply; only fish and one approved dog (of approved breeds) are allowed.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to become certified to drive student home vans are required.
  • Comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing is not allowed).
  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism, as MHS staff serve as role models for students.
