job summary:
An energy technology company is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Greenville, SC area. This role requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical or materials engineering and focuses on supporting gas turbine repair through the development of tooling, technical documentation, and process qualification in a manufacturing environment. This is a 12 months contract.

responsibilities:

• Support development of new tooling and processes for Gas Turbine Component Hardware Repair.
  
  
• Write Repair Engineering Instructions detailing repair limits and procedures.
  
  
• Write Repair Engineering Instructions for new equipment qualification requirements.
  
  
• Document new tooling and processes created by the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology team.
  
  
• Assist with the industrialization of processes and tooling in the Service Center.
  
  
• Help qualify new processes and tooling for implementation in the Service Center.
  
  
• Provide nonconformance dispositions for production repair jobs.
  
  
• Offer engineering support for active production repair jobs within the Service Center.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  
  
• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited college or university.
  
  
• Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university.

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience in a Gas Turbine manufacturing environment.
  
  
• Experience in a Gas Turbine design or repair environment.
  
  
• Proficiency with 3D modelling software such as NX.
  
  
• Proven experience writing technical engineering documents.
  
  
• Understanding of basic statistics related to manufacturing process control.
  
  
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  
  
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes.
  
  
• Proven ability to drive projects to completion.
  
  
• strong oral and written communication skills.
  
  
• Capability to work autonomously when provided with proper direction.
  
  
• strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
