Technical Recruiter

  2026-02-05     Atomic Machines     all cities,AK
Description:

Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compilerâ„¢ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital-but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compilerâ„¢ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device-made possible only through the Matter Compilerâ„¢ technology platform-that we will be unveiling to the world soon.

Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.
About The Role:

This isn't your typical recruiting role - it's dynamic, immersive, and deeply technical. We're building breakthrough technology that spans mechanical systems, AI, computer vision, materials science, and high-volume manufacturing. Every hire materially shapes what we build, and our bar is high by design: fair, well-defined, and grounded in first principles.

We're looking for a technically fluent recruiter who can operate as a true partner to engineering and operations leadership. You'll engage confidently across disciplines, speak the language of engineers, and understand how different domains intersect. You'll be embedded in the work - onsite with our teams, learning how our systems operate, and helping exceptional technical talent understand the impact they can have here.

As a Technical Recruiter, you will own full-cycle recruiting for core technical and operational functions - including mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing and production engineering, finance, and people operations. You'll drive search strategy, build pipelines from scratch, partner with hiring managers to define and calibrate roles, and close high-impact hires in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

We operate as one integrated team. Collaboration, curiosity, and adaptability aren't "nice to haves" - they're essential.

What You'll Do:

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across multiple technical and operational domains, from kickoff through close.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers by defining role scope, shaping evaluation rubrics, and aligning on success profiles.
  • Develop and execute creative, data-driven sourcing strategies to reach exceptional, often passive, technical talent.
  • Build deep technical fluency by working closely with engineers to understand the systems, challenges, and roadmap - and translate that into compelling candidate narratives.
  • Recognize standout candidate profiles and share them across the recruiting team to support company-wide hiring priorities.
  • Maintain consistent, high-quality communication with candidates to deliver a thoughtful and transparent candidate experience.
  • Contribute to shared pipelines, hiring insights, and feedback loops across the recruiting organization.
  • Continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and metrics to increase speed, quality, and candidate engagement.
  • Jump in where needed - whether refining a pitch, opening a new function, or helping close a critical role - in a highly collaborative startup environment.
What You'll Need:
  • 4-6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in technical or engineering domains, ideally in high-growth startup environments.
  • Demonstrated success hiring across multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, embedded, software, manufacturing, operations, finance, or GTM.
  • Genuine curiosity about complex technology and a desire to build fluency in what our teams are developing.
  • Proven ability to design and execute sourcing strategies that consistently engage passive, high-caliber technical talent.
  • A first-principles recruiting mindset - you challenge assumptions, dig into the "why" behind role needs, and design search and evaluation strategies from the ground up.
  • High degree of autonomy paired with strong collaboration instincts; you know when to lead and when to escalate or align.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to tone, clarity, and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously while maintaining a high bar for quality and candidate experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Emeryville or Santa Clara at least 3 days a week, partnering closely with engineers and hiring managers.

The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.
