Payroll Clerk

JOB SUMMARY

The Payroll Clerk performs routine administrative and accounting related tasks to ensure the completion of accurate payroll processing in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Processes and prepares employee payroll and payroll-related records,
  • Reviews electronic timesheets and reminds supervisors to review department timesheets at the close of each pay period.
  • Computes payroll and generates various reports and payroll controls spreadsheets.
  • Prepares and distributes pay checks, processes payroll deductions; and calculates extra compensation and arrears pay.
  • Assists the HR & Payroll Manager in the preparation of federal and state tax withholding reports; and tax payment submissions.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties, such as typing, preparing reports, filing paperwork in the personnel file, uploading data for the electronic UKG Pro files etc.
  • Assists HR & Payroll Manager in ensuring personnel files are accurate, complete and confidential filing Files confidential medical data in separate medical files, such as post offer physical, drug test results, accident reports and Worker's Compensation paperwork.
  • Assists in Risk Management by tracking liability insurance claims through life of the claim.
  • Notarizes documents as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in payroll processing is required. An Associate's degree in Accounting or Business is strongly preferred. Experience using UKG Pro payroll / HRIS software is preferred. Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be proficient with Excel, MS Word and Outlook.
