Weekend Shift: 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Friday-Sunday, paid for 40 hours)
Overview
Wabtec is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate multiple CNC machine tools in a low-volume, high-mix job shop environment . This role is responsible for the entire machining process-from first cut to final inspection-while maintaining strict safety, quality, and productivity standards in compliance with ISO/TS, IRIS, AAR, and CMMI requirements.

What You'll Do
Set up and operate multiple CNC machines within standard route time
Run multiple machines simultaneously while meeting productivity targets (>90% cycle time)
Interpret, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs
Navigate FANUC controls , including wear and geometry offsets
Use Renishaw probing systems (Easy Setting functions)
Set up and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
Inspect parts to engineering blueprints using various gauges and inspection tools
Complete and sign off First Article Inspections (FAI)
Enter and analyze SPC (Statistical Process Control) data and adjust processes as needed
Troubleshoot machining issues and return equipment to production quickly
Perform scheduled TPM inspections and complete required checklists
Maintain 5S standards within assigned work cells
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as SMED, Kaizen, and fixture design
Follow all safety regulations and quality standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology (MTT) preferred
Strong knowledge of shop math , including trigonometry and the Pythagorean Theorem
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and tool prints
Proficiency with GD&T symbols, inspection methods, and tolerances
Experience editing CNC programs
Knowledge of basic rigging , crane and hoist operation, and safe practices
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Frequently stand, walk, and use hands for machine operation
Lift and move up to 30 pounds regularly
Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Work in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, overhead cranes, and forklift traffic
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00/hour (based on experience, skills, and market factors)
