About the Facility
Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant—set on over 200 acres—will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks, with a targeted capacity of up to fifty thousand units by 2030. Operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028.
Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent experience with high school diploma/GED accepted
- 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing maintenance
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of plant and production equipment maintenance in an assembly facility (automotive preferred)
- Knowledge of jig/tool inspections, defect containment, and facility standards
- Ability to create PM procedures to address specific equipment failure modes
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Certifications or training in: electrical troubleshooting, pneumatic systems, PLCs, robotics, AGVs, mechanical systems, machinery lubrication, maintenance & reliability best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Effective communicator with a collaborative and proactive mindset
- Leadership ability to coach and guide team members on daily tasks and Kaizen efforts
- Experience with CMMS systems, TPM, and predictive maintenance techniques preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and root cause analysis initiatives
- Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
What You Will Do
- Execute daily maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with production targets
- Assign tasks to maintenance team members and provide hands-on support to ensure timely completion and adherence to maintenance plans
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure work is performed according to standard procedures and specifications
- Lead and manage subcontracted integrator and repair activities; ensure quality, safety, and compliance with company policies
- Respond promptly to equipment abnormalities and breakdowns, coordinate containment, root cause analysis, and countermeasures to improve equipment reliability
- Support workplace safety by leading safety initiatives, conducting routine checks, and promoting safe work practices across the team
- Coach and develop team members, including onboarding, technical training, and performance feedback to promote skills growth and operational excellence
- Manage and maintain tools, jigs, and other maintenance equipment; ensure readiness, safe handling, and proper storage
- Promote and implement 5S principles to sustain an organized, efficient, and hazard-free maintenance environment
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and planning teams to ensure alignment on maintenance priorities and production support needs
- Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities aimed at enhancing equipment performance, reducing downtime, and improving work processes
- Perform other duties assigned in support of department and company goals
