The Packing Operator is responsible for supporting production operations by manually packing, inspecting, and preparing finished products for shipment in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality and meeting customer standards in a new manufacturing state-of-the-art facility.
Shift: 1st shift (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) with overtime and weekends as needed
$18/hr
Manually fold and pack bags according to size, product specifications, and packaging standards
Visually inspect bags at designated quality control points and remove defective products using the Defect Library as a reference
Monitor and verify accurate bag counts during packing operations
Identify and document the first and last bag numbers and validate container quantities
Stop the machine and escalate issues when defects persist on a production lane
Provide coverage for team members during breaks to ensure continuous operations
Assist the driver with removing mobile containers or boxes from the line
Support reel changes, turning operations, and material adjustments when authorized
Comply with all quality, food safety, hygiene, environmental, and workplace safety guidelines
Clean and maintain the workstation according to established procedures
Assist with manually inserting caps/necks during machine malfunctions after on-the-job training
Perform immersion tests and sorting activities related to customer returns or in-process defects
Ensure proper scanning, tracking, and documentation of sorted products in the MES system
Participate/assist in emptying the giraffes and repacking them, ensuring proper identification of materials (requires authorization)
As required by the Machine Operator, you may be required to complete required entries in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to assign machines and lanes
Ability to focus and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
Willingness and availability to work shift changes, overtime, and weekends as needed
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions precisely, including site security, hygiene, food safety, and quality standards
Basic reading, writing, and counting skills
Ability to identify visual defects and understand packaging requirements
Comfortable completing product labels and traceability documentation
Ability to convey and follow instructions
Strong safety mindset with the ability to consistently apply physical, food safety, and hygiene standards
Ability to multitask across multiple production activities
Authorization to perform specific machine-related and material-handling tasks, as required
