POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Traffic Control Flagger, you will play a vital role in directing traffic through construction zones and road maintenance areas, ensuring safety for everyone involved. Your responsibilities will include setting up and dismantling traffic control devices, communicating effectively with motorists, and maintaining a secure environment for workers. We seek detail-oriented individuals who can work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle prolonged periods of standing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set up and remove traffic control signs, cones, and barricades to redirect traffic safely.
• Manage traffic flow efficiently using stop/slow paddles.
• Communicate clearly with team members via two-way radios.
• Stand, walk, and reach for extended periods, up to 10 hours a day.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and move items over 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment to job sites.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Work outdoors with exposure to varying weather, moving machinery, and traffic.
• Adapt to a moderate to loud noise work environment.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Valid Driver's License.
• Pass background checks, including motor vehicle records review.
• Successfully complete a drug test and comply with federal DOT requirements.
• Wear appropriate safety gear, including safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and reflective vest.
• Utilize 2-way radios effectively.
• Be willing to work in diverse weather conditions and traffic environments.
• Provide top-notch customer service to contractors and internal teams through effective communication.
• Excel in a team-oriented setting.
• Maintain excellent attendance, reliable transportation, and a strong work ethic.
• Complete the ATSSA Flagger training course and company-sponsored Defensive Driver training.
• Be willing to travel as needed, with some overnight stays and the ability to work nights and weekends.
• Be available for a rotating on-call schedule.
