Our client, an investment firm, is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join their team in Los Angeles, CA! The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing, planning and executing tactical and strategic projects within Technology. The candidate will bring a value-driven mindset and focus on solving problems and delivering value as well as influencing a culture of change and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, plan, and execute tactical and strategic technology projects, with a particular focus on software development initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring adherence to defined scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Identify, assess, and manage potential project risks, dependencies, and issues, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Drive and enforce quality standards throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with technical requirements and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including timelines, status reports, risk registers, KPIs, and meeting notes.
  • Provide regular progress updates and executive summaries to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding and application of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to set, measure, and align project goals with organizational priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in the areas of IT, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years Technical Project Management relevant work experience.
  • Value-drive project management orientation.
  • Well versed in Jira & Confluence.
  • Financial services industry experience a plus but not required.
  • PMO, PMP, CEC and/or Six Sigma Project Management Certification preferred.
  • Experience managing operating budgets and/or project financials.
  • Agile experience required.
  • Ability to navigate highly complex projects with multiple cross-collaboration partners.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC.
  • Experience managing projects with globally distributed teams, including effective collaboration across cultures and time zones.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Requires minimal supervision; models effective leadership skills; communicates effectively with other project team members.
  • Works creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork & innovation.

  • Proficiency with Lucid, Excel, PowerPoint, (PowerBI a plus) and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership.

  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross -functional environment.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
