The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Financial Analyst II for a prominent client of ours. This position is in North Chicago, IL 60064. Details for the position are as follows:

Position Title: Financial Analyst II

Location: North Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $38-$41/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Overview

The Development Science, Business Operations Financial Analyst II will support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities for the Aesthetics Device function within R&D Development Science. This role will own and maintain financial "gating" files, partner cross-functionally with finance and R&D leaders, and deliver timely FP&A insights supporting R&D business objectives and collaboration requirements.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong Excel skills, financial acumen, and the ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, own, and maintain the gating file for Aesthetics Device, including cost forecasting, PO tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Support the Senior Manager in maintaining and updating gating files across all CMC programs.
  • Partner cross-functionally to collect cost inputs, assumptions, and financial data to ensure accurate forecasts.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly forecast review calls with Finance and Development Science leadership.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a new reporting system and timeline for the evolving Development Science function.
  • Deliver FP&A support and reporting aligned with R&D Business Development objectives.
  • Lead ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • ~3-5 years of financial analysis experience
  • Strong Excel skills (financial modeling, tracking, reporting)
  • Proven ability to manage calls and communicate effectively with business partners across all levels
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional office environment
Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Previous pharmaceutical or R&D finance experience (terminology familiarity is a plus)
  • FP&A experience supporting technical or scientific organizations

  • Hybrid office setting
  • Standard business hours; overtime not regularly required
