As a Senior Border Patrol Agent, you will be integral to law enforcement and border security efforts. Your previous law enforcement or military police experience will be invaluable in this dynamic role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs regulations.
• Prevent and apprehend smugglers near borders using advanced surveillance techniques and covert operations.
• Conduct thorough investigations, including physical searches for contraband and evidence.
• Utilize a range of government assets like vehicles and off-road equipment during patrols.
• Perform farm and transportation checks to uphold border security.

Qualifications:

1. GL-9 Level: Requires one year of specialized experience in law enforcement duties.
2. GS-11 Level: Requires one year of specialized law enforcement experience with authority to enforce laws and make arrests.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, having maintained primary U.S. residency for at least three of the past five years. Candidates should be referred for selection before turning 40 unless they have prior law enforcement experience. Veterans' Preference candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation: The salary ranges from $63,148 to $120,145 per year, including locality pay, overtime opportunities, and potential recruitment and retention incentives totaling up to $60,000.

Upon acceptance, you will complete six months of intensive training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico, where you will acquire vital law enforcement skills and Spanish language proficiency.
