About Our Client
I am currently partnered with a multi-million dollar pharmaceutical company located near Barrington, IL. As the organization has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, they are now looking to bring on an Accountant to join the team.
As an Accountant, you will support the company by managing day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable and month-end close activities. This role will partner closely with the Senior Accountant and Accounting Director to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support the overall accounting function.
Job Description
Accountant Responsibilities:
Handle end-to-end Accounts Payable activities, including invoice review, coding, and entry, while ensuring appropriate approvals and on-time payments
Manage Accounts Receivable functions such as customer invoicing, cash application, and account reconciliations within QuickBooks Online
Monitor Medicaid-related payments and ensure accurate, timely remittance to State agencies
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances as needed
Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and relevant regulatory requirements
Assist with external audit requests and documentation
Proactively evaluate current processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, including Accounts Payable responsibilities
Prior exposure to the life sciences industry preferred; experience in a small or growing company environment is a plus
Experience working with ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
Ability to communicate with leadership clearly and precisely
