Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Services, this position provides clinical and administrative coordination of activities related to the treatment and intervention of adult outpatient clients. Duties include coordinating existing services and making suggestions on program improvements and monitoring clinical documentation for quality and adherence to set standards. Responsibilities include provision of direct services to clients and supervision of staff members within outpatient treatment department as assigned. This position includes evening and other varying hours as needed.

JOB DUTIES

  • Coordinates services provided to adult outpatient clients by assessing current service delivery and utilization; recommends the development of additional services or changes to existing services.
  • Serves as point of contact for crisis situations, immediate case staffing, and presentations to the community related to adult outpatient program; maintains a close working relationship with referral sources by meeting with them on a regular basis.
  • Coordinates counselors' schedules to insure adequate coverage of services within the adult outpatient program; serves as primary alternative coverage for department when other coverage cannot be arranged.
  • Attends community or other meetings/trainings in order to remain updated on program standards and policy changes in order to facilitate training of staff.
  • Provides group counseling, assessment, case consultation, case management, and treatment services to clients as required.
  • Participates in client case staffing and ensures that referral source is notified of client entry, progress, and completion of services. May periodically lead clinical staffing meetings and department meetings.
  • Assists in monthly QA case reviews of clinical documentation to insure adherence to applicable standards.
  • Participates in training new staff and in completing performance evaluations of applicable staff.
  • Prepares reports and records as assigned and serves on agency committees as needed or requested by Director.
  • Will assist Director in expansion of alternative service programs to expand services to Solicitor's office and other legally referred programs such as probation and parole programs.

  • Actively supports and implements Motivational Interviewing as the program's core evidence based practice.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Extensive knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of substance use problems and addictive diseases.

Extensive knowledge of group and individual counseling techniques, including knowledge base of addiction recovery models

Thorough knowledge of applicable standards (CARF, UCR guidelines, QA standards, Medicaid Standards)

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to evaluate existing programs and suggest program improvements

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff, and other agencies

Demonstrated willingness and ability to engage with community leaders/services and to remain flexible in schedule with the ability to implement initiatives as directed by supervisor.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in human service area from an accredited institution with 4 years' experience in related work with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Licensed to practice in SC (LISW, LPC, LMSW) and/or appropriately credentialed by state of SC based on the following: job duties, years of experience, and level of licensure. Licensure and/or additional credentialing may be required within reasonable time frame upon hire
