The Research Assistant (RA) 2 works with the research study investigators to coordinate subject recruitment, clinical data and sample collection, study related communications, and IRB submissions for designated projects. The responsibilities are a step up from RA1 with more responsibilities in guiding the projects to which they are assigned.
The RA2 is responsible for evaluating and tracking the recruitment process including outcomes, expenditures, and reporting to investigators on outcomes related to study progress. The assistant must conduct all study related activities according to HIPAA and IRB guidelines.
Additional responsibilities include working in close contact with gastroenterologists, research staff, clinical staff, Partners' Institutional Review Board (IRB), FDA and fiscal/legal groups within and outside of Partners, as necessary. Excellent communication (oral and written), phone, and computer skills are necessary.
Working independently and under general supervision from the study investigators, provides support to clinical research studies. May be responsible for the following activities: developing and implementing strategies for improving study logistics and execution, recommending changes to protocols, and completing administrative duties.

Provides assistance on work related to epidemiological studies, translational research and biobanking. Assists with reporting and developing new research proposals.

Essential Functions
-Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting.

-Study cohort management.

-Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents.

-Assists with preparing progress reports with basic prescriptive statistics.

-Gathers information to aid in the development of future research proposals.

May be responsible for the following activities: developing and implementing strategies for improving study logistics and execution, recommending changes to protocols, and completing administrative duties.

Bachelor's Degree Science required

Relevant research and data management experience 1-2 years required
