Maintenance Mechanic

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines. You will troubleshoot malfunctions, locate sources of problems, and dismantle devices using various tools. Additionally, you will inspect, adjust, and fabricate repair parts, ensuring efficient use of maintenance resources.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions using diagrams, sketches, and manuals.
  • Observe mechanical devices to locate problems using precision measuring instruments.
  • Dismantle devices to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
  • Inspect used parts with measuring instruments to determine dimensional changes.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
  • Inform production workers about routine preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation.
  • Install and rebuild equipment.
  • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing information.

Work Environment

Work in a fab shop environment that can be hot in summer and cold in winter. The facility may be dirty, and currently, the work schedule is from 6 PM to 6 AM. Safety and quality are a priority, and the environment focuses on problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylors, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00/hr.
