CRW is dedicated to enhancing the recreation and wellness lifestyles of the ECU community through structured, self-directed, and educationally oriented programs. We aim to foster responsible citizenship, provide leadership experiences, and promote lifelong skills for physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being. Supporting the Division of Student Affairs' commitment to purposeful well-being.Responsibilities (include but not limited to):* Provide a world-class member experience with exercise education, equipment orientations, answering member questions, and managing emergencies* Maintain and clean fitness equipment according to standards and protocols* Utilize necessary software applications for facility operations* Apply risk management strategies to protect everyone and minimize liability* Identify and report potential hazards to ensure a safe environment* Enhance your skills through professional development and training* Use effective communication techniques with members and guests* Adapt to various personality styles and backgrounds when assisting members* Incorporate feedback to improve professionalism and future experiences* Apply exercise science knowledge to assist members during workouts* Perform other duties as assignedPreferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)Qualifications:* Must be a currently enrolled ECU student in good academic standing* Excellent communication skills* Knowledge of fitness equipment and safety standards* Ability to work independently and as part of a team for a minimum of 6 hours per week* Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified or able to obtain certification within 60 days of hire* Flexible work availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and ECU sanctioned breaks* Demonstrated ability to manage and lift a minimum of 60 pounds.Special Instructions to ApplicantPlease upload your resume online and a copy of your class schedule.Quick Link for Direct Access Open Date 10/15/2025 Close Date 01/16/2026 Open Until Filled No Nondiscrimination StatementEast Carolina University is committed to workforce success and cultivating a culture of care for our employees.
