JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accountant with strong General Ledger (GL) experience to support our finance team. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate financial records in Quick Books Online, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with monthly close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Work schedule is flexible, with 15-20 hours per week.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Identify and help execute process improvements.

• Create and structure G/L for small business

• Create and structure Fixed Asset schedules

• Assist in month end closing.

• Prepare and file all sales tax on a timely basis.

• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments.

• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper classification.

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.

• Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.

• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience including GL and P&L.
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online and NetSuite is a must.
  • Proficient in Excel including PivotTables and VLookup.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Advanced logical deduction skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Works in an office setting. Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, handheld devices, copy machine, and computer printer, and operate and monitor various equipment. Must be able to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.

No heavy lifting is expected; exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
