Delivery Driver Helper The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to Service Drivers as they complete their daily routes delivering premium health care linen to our customers. Crown Health Care Laundry Driver Helper will provide support to the designated Service Driver by completing a variety of activities except for driving. The desired candidates must have effective interpersonal skills and a pleasant demeanor. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Load the delivery truck by pushing the weighed carts onto the back of the appropriate truck as required. 2.Loading & Unloading Linen to Customers 3.Employees are responsible for retrieving soiled linen from the hospitals and nursing care facilities, as well as helping transport clean linen to our customers. 4.Assist in keeping the vehicle clean and organized. 5.Adhere to quality standards that are mandated by the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council, HLAC. 6.Under the supervision of the Fleet Manager, complete any other duties that are assigned or deemed necessary. 7.Treat all staff working at our customers facilities with respect that adheres to Crown standards. QUALIFICATIONS The ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without an accommodation. Ability to accurately count and record data either by writing or computer input Self motivated - doesn't always need to be told what to do - can recognize what needs to be done. Good customer service skills Reliable attendance Solid work ethic Fast paced an Walking, pulling, pushing, sorting and lifting continuously Heavy work- transporting up to 100 lbs. of health care linen occasionally and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of linen frequently. Frequent walking during working hours. Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds Frequent reaching, bending, stooping and twisting Frequent pushing of a cart that may weigh 500 pounds Occasional sitting and working at a computer, or attending meetings Frequent counting and sorting
