Job Details

As the Application Development Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of new products from ideation to commercialization. Your responsibilities will also include supporting technical initiatives, ensuring product safety, working directly with our customers to execute account strategies, and collaborating with operations, R&D, and supply chain teams to drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate will have strong flexible packaging technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and ability to develop customer relationships.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and develop packaging for new and existing products.
• Select appropriate packaging materials based on product needs, cost, and sustainability objectives.

• Analysis of test data to ensure packaging performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align packaging with product and marketing requirements.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., ASTM, FDA, ISTA).

• Continuously improve packaging designs to reduce costs and comply with regulatory changes.

• Travel to support trials and participate in customer engagements.

• Performs other similar and related duties as assigned

This is a 100% remote position Midwest or Northeast Region of the US with travel required ranging from 20-40%. Must be near major airport.

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in packaging design and development.

• Strong understanding of flexible packaging materials and manufacturing processes.

• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Experience with sustainable packaging.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $94,275 to $113,130
