Essential Functions

  • Support the planning and execution of Odyssey's Reserving Strategy across the Odyssey Group Companies globally; Odyssey Re, Hudson, Newline.
  • Improve the Reserving Process for Odyssey Global Reserving by partnering with various global actuarial leaders to design and develop new ways to review reserves.
  • Review (re)insurance transactions from an actuarial, capital, solvency, and profitability standpoint.
  • Understand all underlying factors that contribute to Company performance.
  • Provide support and input on the Annual Statement Process, Schedule P, and Quarter Close Process and IFRS 17 for Odyssey Group.
Skills, Knowledge & Ability:
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including experience of using quantitative risk models.
  • Leadership and managerial proficiencies, with the ability to influence both direct and matrixed reporting relationships.
  • Good problem solver with the ability to understand business drivers and needs and be able to balance desired outcomes against potential risks and challenges.
  • Familiarity with the use of "R" in analytics
Education & Experience
  • A Fellow of a relevant Actuarial Society and a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 15 years overall work experience, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant actuarial experience, including 5 years' supervisory experience.
