Major Purpose

  • Provides entry level sourcing, Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) support to include development and execution/enforcement of strategies and contracts for commodities of lower value and less complexity. Assists with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, invoice issue resolution and other data analyses.
  • Works with Strategic Sourcing to address chronic supplier performance issues and/or validation of suppliers during early supplier selection process as part of Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP). Makes use of Achieving Excellence process to manage the supplier's performance. The work requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment but is reviewed periodically or upon completion.

Major Duties:
  • Execute, in a supply chain of low complexity, planning activities within a defined framework/system that mainly affect own organization/unit.
  • Carry out a range of supplier management activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents.
  • Conduct complex analyses, quality tests, and inspections that require a high level of independent judgment.
  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and support in generating new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
  • Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.
  • Produce, update, and provide best practice support on complex Microsoft documents, databases, and other departmental systems, advising colleagues as needed and using expertise to help improve processes.

Education:
  • Post-Secondary Non-Tertiary Education
  • Work Experience
  • Basic experience of simple office / operational systems (4 to 6 months)

Notes:
  • This team works a hybrid schedule (4 days/week onsite). The hybrid schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the team.

  • This is a first shift position - flexible start/end time (must be within the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm).
  • Some offsite travel within Dubuque may be needed to visit with local vendors (all travel would be within 10 miles of the facility)
Position Description
  • As a Supply Management Specialist for the Aftermarket & Customer Support Procurement team in Dubuque, IA you will be responsible for executing the OFP (Order Fulfillment Process). In addition, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Work on part sourcing activities, analyzing quotations, and making supplier selection based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time and supplier stability.
  • Participates in implementation of resourcing activities.
  • Expedites parts/orders as necessary from suppliers.
  • Supports the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Resolves shipping, receiving, invoicing and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Drives continuous improvement with identified suppliers in terms of performance and lowest total cost with the Supply Base utilizing Achieving Excellence process and criteria.
  • Defines, resolves, and provides permanent solutions to supplier performance issues with the assistance of other functional representatives, while managing the day-to-day supplier relationship issues, thereby assuring proper communication occurs.

What Sets You Apart
  • Experience in specific areas of Supply Management such as: supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, module supply management, scheduling, forecasting, logistics, etc.
  • Experience working within the SAP business management system.
  • Experience with Business Objects and Business Warehouse reporting systems
  • Buyer/Purchasing experience with external suppliers
Education:
  • Manager would prefer candidates who have a bachelor's degree in either Business/Management, Supply Management/Logistics, Accounting/Finance, or Engineering/Technology discipline
  • They're also willing to accept candidates who have equivalent experience in a related field
  • Recent college graduates will be considered if they have a degree in Supply Management/Logistics
