The Director of Product Marketing will operate as the brand owner and strategic lead for the product portfolio, responsible for defining, orchestrating, and measuring the comprehensive marketing strategy that drives brand health, customer experience, and revenue growth.
This role functions similarly to a brand manager at scale, serving as the primary liaison between the business and cross-functional teams required to bring go-to-market strategies to life. The Director will define success, prioritize the highest-value initiatives, and provide clear strategic direction to executional marketing teams while ensuring consistency, impact, and customer-centricity across all touchpoints.
This is an ideal role for someone with GTM start-up or new product experience and is a player-coach role, combining hands-on strategic leadership with people management and cross-functional influence in a matrixed environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Own the end-to-end brand and product marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, and revenue objectives.
- Develop comprehensive go-to-market plans, including positioning, messaging frameworks, value propositions, and success metrics.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for brand consistency and effectiveness across all marketing channels and customer touchpoints.
- Present integrated marketing strategies and plans on behalf of the marketing organization to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Go-to-Market Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment:
- Act as the primary liaison between the business and cross-functional teams (Creative, Content, Paid Media, Web, E-commerce, IT, Product, Analytics, and more).
- Translate business objectives into clear marketing priorities and actionable plans.
- Guide teams on where to focus based on highest-value expected outcomes, balancing short-term performance with long-term brand building.
- Ensure teams have the strategic clarity, inputs, and guardrails needed to execute effectively.
Messaging, Creative & Content Direction:
- Define and own messaging frameworks, brand narratives, and positioning, ensuring relevance to customer needs and consistency across channels.
- Partner closely with Content and Creative teams to develop and execute a strategic creative roadmap.
- Optimize messaging and experiences through ongoing learning, testing, and performance insights.
Digital Experience & E-commerce Enablement:
- Support and guide the evolution of the website and digital ecosystem, advocating for best-in-class customer experiences.
- Partner with E-commerce, Content, and IT teams to optimize digital journeys that drive engagement and maximize revenue.
- Ensure digital experiences are executed as intended and aligned to brand, messaging, and performance objectives.
Paid Media & Demand Enablement:
- Partner with Paid Media teams to define, design, and execute media strategies across both awareness-driving and conversion-focused efforts.
- Ensure paid media aligns tightly with brand strategy, messaging frameworks, and customer journey stages.
Customer Experience Advocacy & Measurement:
- Serve as a strong advocate for the customer experience, providing feedback and guidance across website, media, creative, communications, app, and content touchpoints.
- Support the measurement and evaluation of marketing plans, ensuring clear success criteria and actionable insights.
- Use performance data and customer feedback to refine strategies and optimize outcomes over time.
People Leadership & Team Development:
- Manage and coach at least one direct report responsible for tactical and executional support.
- Provide clear priorities, development guidance, and performance feedback.
- Flex between strategic leadership and hands-on support as needed to ensure team and business success.
What You Will Bring to the Table:
- 8+ years of marketing experience, with demonstrated success in product marketing, brand management, or go-to-market strategy.
- Proven experience managing and developing team members.
- Strong background working in matrixed organizations and leading through influence.
- Experience partnering across creative, content, paid media, digital, e-commerce, and technology teams.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with executional rigor
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing up, across, and down the organization.
- Customer-obsessed mindset with a strong understanding of brand, experience, and performance marketing.
- Ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear direction and actionable plans.
