We are seeking a Design Engineer with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1-3 years of relevant experience to join our Indoor & Specialty group in Greenville, SC. This role calls for a talented and creative problem solver who will design and develop lighting products that push boundaries in performance, design, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background, a creative mindset, and a proven ability to deliver exceptional design solutions. Experience in lighting is highly desired but not required.

This position is required to be on-site in Greenville, SC. We are not supporting relocation for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualization and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop innovative lighting solutions that meet project goals and performance objectives.
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform thermal analysis, optical simulations, and photometric testing to validate design concepts and ensure optimal performance.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping and testing of lighting fixtures and systems, analyze results, and iterate designs for improved outcomes.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing and product assembly.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner with project managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment across all stages of product development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and technologies, and proactively recommend new methods to enhance product innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical design engineering experience with a demonstrated passion for creativity and innovation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., OnShape, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with engineering analysis and interpreting test results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within scope.
  • SAP experience preferred.
Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $60,000-$70,000.
