Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coating various materials with finishing products, such as stains, paints, and lacquers. Finishers use spray guns and spray equipment to manufacture products according to customer specifications. Finishers tape, prep, prime, and paint wood and/or metal items. Finishers are assigned to a specific area of the manufacturing plant but may also work with other departments. Finishers may perform other tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Spray wood stains and clear topcoats on materials 20%
  • Tape, prep, prime, and paint wood and/or metal items 20%
  • Work with build documents and basic drawings 20%
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace/shop 20%
  • Perform other manufacturing tasks as needed 20%
Experience and Education:
  • Minimum - High School or GED
  • Minimum - 1 - 3 months related experience and/or training
Position Requirements:
  • Knowledge of finishing equipment, such as spray guns, to coat products
  • Knowledge of finishing products, such as stains, paints, and lacquers
  • Mechanically inclined; ability to work with basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch
  • Ability to add and subtract fractions
  • Communicates well with others; speaks and writes clearly; asks for and offers help when needed
  • Interpersonal; resolves questions and concerns in a professional manner; maintains confidentiality
  • Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work

  • Observes and follows safety procedures
