Summary/Purpose

Responsible for supervising technicians and contractors for the care and sustained operations of the plant. This position is responsible for managing multiple shifts of the maintenance group.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily

  • Responsible for the CMMS and preventive maintenance duties to minimize downtime
  • Analysis process/equipment problems for long-term solutions
  • Continuously improving assigned areas of responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment and machinery as needed
  • Participates in Kaizen teams
  • Access spare parts problems and makes appropriate changes as approved
  • Reports on equipment downtime and prepares solutions to long downtime occurrences
  • Works with contractors for process projects
  • Reports as required for process development or troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs and inventory.
  • Enforcement of safety protocol to comply with all required regulations
  • Supervisor and provide leadership to maintenance personnel while establishing priorities in maintenance work schedule
  • Willing and able to work any shift and in a fast-paced team environment; Travel as required
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position supervises maintenance team leaders and team members.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required
  • Understanding and experience with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Special equipment knowledge (i.e., CBN grinding, tool regrinding, chip handling systems, filtration, etc.)
  • Metal cutting and toll knowledge
  • CNC programing knowledge
  • General knowledge of heating, cooling, ventilation systems, and IATF 16949/ISO requirements
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication systems, PLC systems, nomenclature and close tolerance measurement
  • Mechanical reasoning skills
  • High-level mathematical skills and problems solving ability
  • Knowledge of part drawing interpretation
  • Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e., Microsoft applications, Auto CAD LT)
  • Ability to work in team environment and have hands-on work ethic
  • Self-motivated, results oriented and excellent personal skills, including strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology or Industrial Maintenance or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Automated equipment troubleshooting experience is preferred
  • CNC programming experience in close tolerance applications is preferred
  • Tooling design and selection is preferred
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations

  • Work shift as assigned and overtime is required, as needed.

  • Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields.
