Pay Range: $47.75hr - $52.75hr

  • The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions to address hardware deviations, improve manufacturability, and support continuous design enhancement.
  • This role involves performing design analysis, conducting technical reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality solutions for deviant hardware and design support to reduce or prevent repeat incidents.
  • Conceive innovative ideas to solve unit assembly manufacturing and design challenges.
  • Utilize hand calculations, CAD, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for analysis and support redesign efforts.
  • Evaluate unit assembly-level clearances across the entire gas turbine (GT).
  • Support factory test initiatives and challenges, including review of borescope inspection results.
  • Conduct technical reviews for design tasks with Controlled Title Holders (CTHs).
  • Evaluate and mitigate component, assembly, and system-level risks.
  • Execute standard work and design templates for common issues encountered in specific components or assemblies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design methods, manufacturing processes, and workflows.
  • Maintain strong relationships with supply chain and manufacturing teams.
  • Stay updated on new product introductions (NPI), new technology initiatives (NTI), and emerging fleet service issues.
  • Ensure technical rigor and integrity in all aspects of design and post-design work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Global Supply Chain, Quality, NPI Design, Manufacturing and Product Engineering, Controlled Title Holders, Systems, Performance, Repair, and Heat Transfer.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
