Lead all tooling and mold-related operations in a high-volume injection molding facility, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and changeovers to support safe, efficient production
Supervise a team of Tooling Technicians and Set-Up Techs across multiple shifts, setting clear expectations for mold care, cleanliness, readiness, and reliability
Develop and implement standard work for mold maintenance and changeovers, ensuring PMs are completed on time and tools are production-ready every time
Troubleshoot mold-related defects, identify root causes, and implement countermeasures in collaboration with process, quality, and production teams
Coordinate tool changeovers and mold prep for new product launches and engineering changes, overseeing tool room priorities to support production schedules
Support technical training and development of tooling and set-up personnel, building a team that can execute independently without relying on hands-on manager involvement
Own tooling-related documentation and compliance, including PM records, changeover logs, and tooling readiness for PPAPs and IATF or ISO audits
What We're Looking For
Experience leading tooling or mold maintenance teams in a high-volume injection molding environment
Strong technical knowledge of mold structure, changeovers, PM strategy, and tooling repairs, with the ability to coach and troubleshoot on the floor
Hands-on leadership style with a coaching mindset; someone who builds teams and drives accountability through structure, fairness, and consistency
Comfortable working cross-functionally with maintenance, process, quality, and production to support uptime and quality goals
Familiarity with CMMS systems, ERP platforms such as SAP, and basic office tools like Excel and Outlook
Ability to manage priorities across multiple shifts and remain calm under pressure in a fast-moving automotive manufacturing environment
