Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Local travel may be required including travel between campuses. Limited travel to networking and professional development events.

Under limited supervision, performs professional accounting duties for the maintenance of accounting and financial records, reimbursement requests and other records needed in administering restricted/grant (federal, state and other) funds of the institution. Works with the Director of Fiscal Affairs in reviewing and analyzing financial transactions for financial reporting, providing support for monthly/year end closeout and other duties relative to the operation of the accounting office. Provides support in the development of the College's financial strategic plan including but not limited to capital plan, operating budget and restricted budget. The successful candidate must be proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite including MS Access. Expertise with MS Excel required. General knowledge of grant accounting. Independent, critical thinker that can research and problem solve with limited guidance.
Job Duties:
- GENERAL LEDGER AND BUDGET DEVELOPMENT: Develops and maintains tools and reports for measuring revenues and expenses to identify information not ordinarily found in a General Accounting system. Establishes, maintains and supervises the use of an extensive internal chart of accounts. Prepares various adhoc and management reports and analyses using ratios, benchmarking and trend analysis to measure the overall financial health of the college and to assist with decision making/financial strategic plan development. Assists in developing and maintaining the capital, unrestricted operating budget and restricted budgets. Assists director with the annual budget workshop. Maintains the account security function of the institution's ERP software system for finance. Coordinates the implementation and upgrades of ERP software for the finance office. Shares responsibility for the monthly/yearly closeout of financial records. Assists with external audit and preparation of ACFR.
- RESTRICTED FUNDS, GRANTS ACCOUNTING, and COMPLIANCE: Maintains accounting/financial records for all restricted funds, including grants, and provides relevant information to grant coordinators/stakeholders about expenses. Assists stakeholders with interpreting Federal and State regulations. Oversees preparation of monthly and quarterly reimbursement requests of Department of Education and various other Federal, State and local grants. Responsible for recording and reconciling revenue and accounts receivable related to restricted and grant funding. Oversees and assists with required sponsor reporting for all Federal and State programs. Prepares the year-end schedule of Federal assistance for the official financial reports and works directly with external auditors as necessary.
- SUPERVISION: Supervises and develops accounting staff members and the work performed. Formally prepares annual EPMS while providing guidance and feedback with information interval evaluations and coaching sessions.
- CAPITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT: Assists with maintaining accounting records for the various capital accounts and performing asset management. Oversees the process for analyzing equipment procurements to ensure appropriate capitalization of assets. Reconciles fixed asset ledger with appropriate documentation to include asset additions, deletions, depreciation, and transfers for equipment within the finance department.
- OTHER: Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree with accounting courses and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, banking or finance.
