Position Description
A Facilities Specialist performs many maintenance, safety and management tasks that promote a clean and safe working environment for the building's employees, ensuring that we meet operational needs and compliance standards.
Essential Job Functions:
* Facility Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of buildings and facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This includes managing cleaning, maintenance, and safety compliance.
* Maintenance Support: Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues, coordinate repairs, and manage maintenance schedules. This may involve troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
* Vendor Management: Manage contracts with external service providers for landscaping, waste disposal, and other facility-related services, ensuring compliance with service agreements.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure that all facilities comply with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and conduct safety drills and inspections.
* Budget Management: Control spending against the budget for facility operations and maintenance, adjusting with Maintenance Supervisor as necessary to meet financial goals.
* Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency plans for disasters, ensuring staff are trained and prepared for various scenarios.
Education, Experience & Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
* 4+ years in facilities management
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems.
* Great customer service and interpersonal skills
* Friendly, service-oriented personality
* Keen attention to detail
* Problem-solving and basic troubleshooting skills
* Proficiency with common word processing and spreadsheet software
* Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
