GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The SCSEP Senior Service Coordinator administers and manages the activities of the SCSEP

program. This includes recruitment, intake/eligibility, assessment, assisting participants with

employment training, job placement, employment support, work supports, identifying potential

host agencies, development for continued community employment, and analyzing and recording

data for use in maintaining reports and information.

PURPOSE:

to provide 55 and older adults the opportunity to work and train while updating their skills to

secure competitive employment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the safety of all participants and staff under her/his supervision.

2. Adheres to the Mission and CARES values of GIUMSC and the SCSEP program.

3. Administers and oversees the activities of the local SCSEP Service Area.

4. Administers and supervises local SCSEP site staff/participants to direct the delivery of activities in their

respective communities/regions/counties.

5. Ensures that policies, processes and procedures for SCSEP are in place to ensure compliance with contract

deliverables and metrics

6. Guarantees that records of participant timesheets, hours worked/trained and payroll are collected,

submitted and approved by deadline.

7. Coordinates and conducts local SCSEP site activities to recruit, conduct intakes/orientations, and place

program participants in training assignments.

8. Coordinate with Team Lead on Host Agency acquisitions, orientations, assessments, and partnerships.

9. Provide guidance and assistance to SCSEP staff in achieving goals.

10. Maintain knowledge of local resources and offerings in order to effectively assist participants with potential

supportive services outside of GIUMSC.

11. Act as a liason between GIUMSC, community partners, and referral sources, including local and state

government agencies, human service organizations, churches, non-profits, etc.

12. Enter all necessary data into database regarding people served, services provided, and job placements in

timely fashion.

13. Assist SCSEP Federal Team Lead with collection and collaboration of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual

reports.

14. Assist with coverage for Career Navigators as needed.

15. Provide guidance and assistance to SCSEP staff as needed.

16. Educate and implements policies, practices, procedures, and controls for SCSEP program in compliance with

all regulations, including HIPAA compliance for both participants and host agencies.

17. Identify partnerships with supportive service providers, business, and other organizations that can provide

leverage and work supports for the GIUMSC SCSEP program.

18. Compiles weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of SCSEP activities.

19. Conducts presentations and workshops as appropriate.

20. Conduct and trains on safety assessments with Host Agency sites.

21. Travel frequently to local sites with the possibility of overnights stays.

22. Markets and obtains referrals for new participant and host agency for the GIUMSC/SCSEP program.

23. Assists participants in securing and retaining appropriate employment

24. Continue day-to-day progress and retention services for SCSEP participants.

25. Document all activities through narrative, statistical and financial reporting.

26. Create and share a Mission Impact story on participant success from GIUMSC SCSEP program.

27. Perform all other duties as assigned.

  1. Education/Experience

    Associate's Degree in Human Services, Education, Liberal Arts preferred; or

    High School Diploma and 5 years' experience in a related field; or a combination of related experience and

    education. Knowledge of the Older Americans Act and amendments and the Workforce Innovation Opportunity

    Act Act is a plus. Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting employment and training

    practices. Three (3) years of program delivery experience, including program development responsibilities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Must be able to drive, have a valid South Carolina driver's license, liability insurance, dependable vehicle, and clean driving record.

    Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check, drug/alcohol test

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    1. Demonstrated supervisory skills
    2. Knowledge of the Older Americans Act, Workforce Investment Act regulations and procedures
    3. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
    4. Excellent oral and written communications skills; bilingual skills are preferred.
    5. Knowledge of social service and community agency practices
    6. Ability to network and develop partnerships with local employers and host agencies
    7. Strong Interpersonal Skills
    8. Knowledge of organizational practices, policies and procedures, and compliance with the same.
    9. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with Safety policies and procedures.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises assigned staff participants and SCSEP volunteers.

    Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing,

    seeing, standing, sitting, typing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be

    exposed to dust, loud noises and odors. May be required to do limited work outdoors.

    Safety & Security: Responsible for following all safety, security, and money handling procedures, as

    directed by Goodwill policy.

    Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, or whatever hours are required to meet the professional

    requirements of the job.

    Work Attire: Casual business attire; however, professional business attire when appropriate. Dress is to be

    reflective of Goodwill's positive image in the community. Each associate is expected to present a fashionable,

    neat, and clean appearance at all times.
