The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine healthcare services or diagnostic insights.
This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.
The Phlebotomist II maintains direct patient interaction, creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, and explains procedures clearly while performing collections in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner.
This position demonstrates leadership behaviors with a strong focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Assignments may include work at a patient service center, physician office, or other locations based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper tube labeling in the patient s presence.
Maintain required records and documentation accurately and timely.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirement/Must Have:
Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Commitment to company policies, procedures, dress code, and health and safety standards.
Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
Reliable transportation with a valid driver s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to support multiple locations with minimal notice.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate openly and professionally with peers, supervisors, and patients.
Experience:
One to three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.
Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Qualification And Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
