Housekeeping Supervisor

Hyatt Place Greenville Downtown offers modern comfort and exceptional service in the heart of Greenville. We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team and ensure our guests enjoy a clean, welcoming environment.

Overview:

The Housekeeping Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates work activities of the Housekeeping staff in hotel.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
2. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
3. Maintain complete knowledge at all times of: Verify room status on A.M. report; report discrepant rooms; prioritize and update status of check-out rooms.
4. Ensure that assigned staff have reported to work; document any late or absent employees.
5. Coordinate breaks for assigned staff. Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
6. Assign designated guest room keys and beepers to assigned staff.
7. Maintain accurate record of such and ensure security of keys.
8. Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
9. Inspect supply levels of floor closets.
10. Assign designated personnel to rectify any deficiencies.
11. Check Room Attendant's carts for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems.
12. Inspect rooms cleaned by assigned Room Attendants, using designated checklist.
13. Directly contact Room Attendant and relay any deficiencies to be corrected.
14. Update room status after approving cleanliness and condition in accordance with departmental standards.
15. Check vacant rooms, verify status and update status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
16. Check DND rooms and verify status.
17. Mark dirty sheets of randomly selected assigned rooms and follow up to ensure Room Attendant's have changed bed sheets.
18. Counsel Room Attendants on any discrepancies.
19. Inspect public areas/bathrooms, fitness center, pool area, offices and service areas after being cleaned by Floor/Lobby Attendants, using designated checklists.
20. Directly contact respective personnel and relay any deficiencies to be corrected.
21. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Housekeeping Clerk.
22. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
23. Conduct training of staff as assigned.
24. Provide feedback on staff performance to manager.
25. Report disciplinary problems to manager and participate in the counseling of employees.
26. Document pertinent information in department log book.
27. Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving.
28. Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with manager and/or on-coming supervisor.
29. Check P.M. reports for accuracy and completeness.
30. Complete night counts in accordance with departmental standards.

Education and Experience:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Six months to one year related supervisory experience.
