This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville, South Carolina. We primarily manufacture and overhaul components for the transit industry (subway and commuter rail). We are seeking a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on planning and designing manufacturing processes in our production facility related to Auxiliary Power Systems. Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or similar roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in electrical design, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing).
  • Experience with corrective action activities (5?Why, 8D, etc.).
  • Experience with AC/DC circuits.
  • CAD model/print development preferably in SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of electrical testing and measurement techniques.
  • Experience with MES Software, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
  • Fluent English with oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience or good knowledge of Electrical Manufacturing assembly processes.
  • Experience or good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools; Green belt or black belt certification preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):
  • Analyze electrical issues and provide clear solutions to correct problems.
  • Create detailed work instructions.
  • Project Management support.
  • Lead VSM and Kaizen events in support of process improvements.
  • Track KPIs for the department as assigned.
  • Coordinate with other sites in the business unit to ensure best practices are shared and implemented.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to production personnel, quality and manufacturing teams as a process leader for wiring, crimping, PCB assembly, and soldering.
  • Manage layout of assigned areas to maximize throughput and minimize waste, in accordance to lean principles.
  • Support ECO completion in a timely manner.
  • Support capital planning and execution on a yearly basis including discovery of new processes and financial justifications.


Physical And Mental Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk and talk or hear, and use hands and fingers to handle, or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand for up to 4 hours per day. Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds with crane assistance. Requires daily face?to?face interaction with employees on the production line.

Environment: The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities including production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.

Mental Demands: The employee is required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn, apply and teach new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $77,400.00 $110,300.00. The actual salary offered may be influenced by training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
