We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Manager of Data Engineering to guide our team in delivering high‑value analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in data architecture, cloud technologies, and analytics, plus strong leadership and client‑management skills.

Opportunity

In this role you will design and build analytics solutions that drive business value, collaborating with data scientists, managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and analyze business requirements to translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design, build, and operate scalable data architecture and modeling solutions.
  • Stay up to date with latest trends and emerging technologies.
  • Lead workstream delivery and ensure quality across all processes.
  • Engage with clients daily, participate in working sessions, and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Implement resource plans and budgets while managing engagement economics, including travel as required.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Lead the design and development of scalable data engineering solutions using Databricks on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Oversee complex cloud analytics architectures aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand analytics needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and governance throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Drive end‑to‑end data pipeline development, including ingestion, transformation, and storage.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and expectations.
  • Stay abreast of trends in data engineering, cloud computing, and analytics.
  • Possess strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 4–6 years of experience in data engineering, focusing on cloud data solutions and analytics.
  • Proven expertise in Databricks and Spark.
  • Strong background in data architecture and designing complex cloud analytics solutions.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams.
  • Programming skills in Python, Scala, or SQL.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with client‑management focus.

Managerial Expertise

  • Strategic leadership and alignment of data initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Project management across multiple projects and teams, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Stakeholder engagement at executive and operational levels.
  • Change and risk management in data projects.
  • Technical leadership and architectural decision‑making.
  • Documentation and reporting of project progress.

Large‑Scale Implementation Programs

  • Enterprise Data Lake Implementation for a Fortune 500 retailer, integrating multi‑source data for advanced analytics.
  • Real‑Time Analytics Platform for a financial services client, enabling fraud detection via Databricks streaming.
  • Data Warehouse Modernization for a healthcare provider, transitioning to a cloud‑native architecture.

Additional Desired Experience

  • Advanced analytics tools and techniques.

  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP data services.
