Our client, an international manufacturing company, is seeking a Head of Accounting to lead and develop the U.S. accounting operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with local legal, tax, and corporate accounting requirements (including IFRS and U.S. GAAP), while driving accuracy, process improvement, and team development within a dynamic international organization.

This is a hybrid role in the Greenville, SC area.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Lead and develop the U.S. Accounting team, ensuring compliance with all local, tax, and corporate accounting requirements.
• Oversee accounting policies and procedures in alignment with U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• Serve as primary contact for auditors, tax authorities, and internal departments.
• Collaborate with Group Accounting to ensure accurate global reporting and standards alignment.
• Manage financial statements, cash flow, and month-, quarter-, and year‑end close activities.
• Ensure timely supplier payments and adherence to payment terms.
• Drive implementation of new systems, procedures, and process improvements.
• Set departmental goals, monitor progress, and ensure performance targets are met.
• Identify and implement process optimizations to improve accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare reports for corporate management, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support accounting projects, system integrations, and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee staff training and development to maintain high professional standards.
• Uphold compliance with Information Security and ISO 45001 management systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced degree preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP standards.
• Experience working in a multinational manufacturing or automotive environment preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical mindset with continuous improvement orientation.
