The Grounds Maintenance Operator supports the school district by ensuring that all campuses and outdoor facilities are safe, clean, functional, and visually appealing. This position performs a variety of landscaping, groundskeeping, and maintenance duties to create a positive learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License

• Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, and weed control.
• Maintain landscaped areas, trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow and ice removal, and storm cleanup.
• Inspect grounds and playgrounds for safety hazards; report or correct issues as needed.
• Perform minor outdoor facility repairs (fences, gates, signage, benches, etc.).
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers following district policies and safety guidelines (certification may be required).
• Support custodial and maintenance staff with outdoor-related tasks when needed.
