Department: Field Service
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Field Service Supervisor

About the Role

As a Field Service Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers through commissioning, training, and troubleshooting of high-voltage switchgear systems. You'll ensure timely delivery of parts, perform advanced testing and repairs, and provide hands-on technical support both in the field and at our facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfill customer parts orders, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
  • Respond to inquiries related to product storage, installation, testing, and non-conformance resolution.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing on HV switchgear including circuit function, timing, insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, vacuum integrity, BCT, wire insulation, and helium leak tests.
  • Perform precision repairs using power tools and work instructions both on-site and in-plant.
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on training to customers at their locations.
  • Document findings, generate reports, and communicate procedures using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to company policies and safety standards.
  • Analyze customer issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Stay current with industry best practices through workshops, publications, and professional networks.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Mechatronics or Engineering Technology preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or field service.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% across the U.S. and Canada.
