GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To effectively maintain a strong work ethic to manage a Second Story specialty store.
To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer/donor relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries.
To establish positive relationships with clients and associates to successfully implement Goodwill's mission services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To assist the store manager in the development and operations of the assigned Second Story to maximize retail market share and donations in compliance with the annual operating budget.
2. To complete any Management training classes available from Goodwill University.
3. To supervise associates and clients in the day-to-day operations of the Second Story location and to also help cross train associates in other areas of responsibility for Second Story.
4. To accurately operate the cash register and barcoding devices for product.
5. To successfully maintain monthly inventories, supplies, and prepare daily reports accurately and timely.
6. To accurately check in shipments from stores. Including tracking pieces produced per store.
7. To identify and properly value items that exceed set pricing for Second Story.
8. To maintain proper rotation of product and ensure fullness of Second Story Retail Space.
9. To help ensure that all production is exceeded to benefit the location.
10. To process, stock, merchandise, alphabetize and price merchandise while maintaining the quality of the product selected.
11. To monitor inventory of product for processing and communicate needs to Retail Store Manager.
12. To perform and assign where needed general housekeeping, custodial and janitorial duties as may be scheduled and assigned.
13. To attend all training and established managers meetings as scheduled.
14. To ensure compliance with established Goodwill policies and procedures.
15. To assist at other locations as needed
16. To work with the Second Story team to maximize growth of the location.
17. To adhere to all attendance policies and all LP policies and procedures.
18. To perform all other duties as assigned.
Responsible to: Retail Store Manager
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: Two to three years of retail experience, or experience in relevant field, highly preferred. Must have exemplary management skills that include planning, organizing, directing, merchandising, training, and customer service.
Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors.
Safety & Security: Responsible for following all safety and security, as directed by Goodwill policy.
Work Hours: As assigned by store location. Must be flexible to the needs and changing needs of the store to cover absences within the location.
Work Attire: Each associate is expected to present a neat, and clean appearance that will be reflective of Goodwill's positive image in the community. Each associate is also required to abide by the dress code, including wearing the required name badge, where visible, always.
