Join our dedicated team at Prisma Health! We are seeking a Part-Time EKG Technician to perform EKGs and assist in stress tests, making a meaningful impact on patient care.

Job Summary

The EKG Technician will be responsible for conducting EKGs and ECGs, supporting healthcare providers during stress tests, and ensuring top-quality diagnostic readings.

Essential Functions

• Perform EKGs/ECGs with knowledge of proper lead placement and noise recognition.

• Educate patients on EKG/ECG and stress testing procedures, ensuring comfort throughout the process.

• Receive and process ECG/EKG records while accurately correcting patient data.

• Prepare patients and apply Holter monitors, ensuring high-quality strips for accurate readings.

• Assist with ECHO stress procedures as needed.

• Respond swiftly to emergency codes as part of the clinical team.

• Provide EKG/ECG support to other areas during downtime.

• Conduct quality control and maintenance of equipment following established protocols.

• Be prepared to undertake office-related functions as required.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent with completed arrhythmia, ECG, or EKG coursework OR

• Successful completion of Prisma Health arrhythmia exam or course.

• Experience: No previous experience required.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• CPR Certification

• BLS Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of ECHO stress information to communicate effectively with physicians.

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.

• Data entry skills and proficiency with patient monitoring equipment.
