Your job will involve achieving the goal of zero accidents by using all protective equipment assigned and suggesting safety improvements. You will examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. You will maintain all tools, machines, and supplies in good, safe working order and report any issues or discrepancies immediately. You will carry out gas metal arc welding (GMAW) to manufacture and repair equipment items and components, cut materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses, and weld metal and other materials into a wide range of structures. You will operate different types of tools, machinery, and welding equipment, evaluate finished projects, and perform quality checks. You will also design new parts and produce them according to specifications and company needs.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing, and kneeling. You will need to be able to work in all weather conditions and work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification. You will need experience with stick, MIG, and wire feed welding, and experience with welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment maintenance is preferred. You will also need a valid driver's license with current motor vehicle insurance and a clean driving record.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
