Cushman Sr Production Manager

Job Summary

The Milliken Cushman Plant located in Williamston, SC reports to the Plant Manager. This role leads production and process departments to achieve objectives in productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, delivery, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Location Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Human Resources to understand current and future personnel needs and execute hiring, training, and cross‑training plans.
  • Interview applicants and hire qualified candidates to support the Cushman Plant.
  • Ensure associates clearly understand plant goals and business initiatives and understand their role in achieving those goals.
  • Manage Department Production Managers, PPI, and VOH to foster a working environment that promotes open communication, teamwork, and individual engagement.
  • Allocate work to meet delivery objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure associates are paid correctly and performance evaluations are completed as required, providing continuous feedback and taking action to recognize achievements and address deficiencies.
  • Support continuous improvement of the safety process by ensuring associates participate in safety committee activities and corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Manage Process Engineers to ensure all associates are trained and fully participate in the safety process and follow ISO and MPS frameworks.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to manage personnel procedures including hiring needs, interviewing, training plans, and disciplinary action.
  • Establish performance goals for production associates, monitor safety and production procedures, and keep the Location Manager informed of all situations and decisions that could impact performance.
  • Collaborate with Business and Plant product development groups to develop new products and processes that meet customer expectations at optimum cost.
  • Control departmental variances daily, manage costs, and implement strategic objectives to achieve short and long‑term goals.

Qualifications – Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Textile experience preferred.
  • 2–5 years' experience in Production Management.

  • Analytical/problem‑solving skills and strong verbal, written, and group presentation communication.
  • Effective team player ability and the ability to lead a team of managers.
