Seeking a Senior Network Engineer – LAN & Wi-Fi Infrastructure to join the Management Information Systems (MIS) team. Engineer will install, configure, and manage the organization's on-premises network environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
This role encompasses LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and network security of on‑site and other locations on the network. The ideal candidate is a seasoned infrastructure professional with proven expertise in enterprise IT operations, advanced troubleshooting, and performance optimization in mission‑critical environments.
Overview
Location: On‑site in Piedmont, South Carolina
Duration: 6 months W2 contract with option for Contract‑to‑Hire
Compensation: $55-65/hr W2 plus benefits, higher hourly rate negotiable depending on skills and experience

What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and optimize network gear (switches, routers, firewalls, APs).
- Monitor and fine‑tune performance to minimize downtime and latency.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for complex network issues.
- Manage hardware — cabling, racking, firmware, and vendor coordination.
- Document network diagrams, standards, and procedures.
- Partner with cross‑functional IT teams on migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of hands‑on network infrastructure administration experience in enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in:
- Switching: VLANs, spanning‑tree, LACP, access/trunk port configuration.
- Routing: OSPF, BGP, VRFs, route tables.
- Wireless: Enterprise Wi‑Fi deployment, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Security: Enterprise firewalls, NAT/security policies, IPsec VPNs.
- Expert knowledge of Meraki hardware, including firewall, switches, and wireless access points.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Meraki, and FortiGate platforms.
- Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, NAC, SD‑WAN, VLANs, QoS, and VoIP networking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Preferred Certifications: Cisco CCNP (Enterprise, Security), Meraki ECMS, Fortinet NSE (FortiGate), and CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator).
- Hands‑on experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, including change and incident management best practices.
- Experience in compliance‑driven or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, PCI).
