Job Summary:

Manage a book of client relationships with administrative and relationship management responsibility. Has decision making authority regarding client account management involving complex and sensitive personal, business, tax and investment matters. Has expectation of identifying and closing additional trust and/or investment management services relationships. This person will be accountable for the retention of their portfolio of Trust, Estate, Agency and Individual Retirement Account (IRA) accounts and the delivery of fiduciary services to that portfolio of clients. A Trust Officer should possess a keen understanding of the importance of confidentiality, and a commitment to embracing and applying a high standard of service to our clients, communities and your fellow associates.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Deliver quality service to a book of trust clients through a proactive contact process based on defined standards of service.
  • Manage client account administrative needs and investment portfolios in line with standards set by department policy and procedures, account documents, South Carolina statute, Federal regulations; the client's investment objective and investment committee's guidelines.
  • Maintain current understanding of bank and department policies and procedures, and regulations as they relate to Fiduciary issues and communicate information to Trust team.
  • Be a resource for bank employees in complex trust prospect situations.
  • Participate in both the new account acceptance process as well as closing processes as required.
  • Assists in the audit and examination process and coordinate any required responses.
  • Participate in Trust Investment Committee and Trust Administrative Committee.
  • Generate new business, while not the sole focus of this position effort in this area is expected.
  • Maintain current understanding of regulations as they relate to Fiduciary and Investment issues.
  • Represent the Organization by being active in the community by actively participating in service organizations, community activities, etc. to promote a positive organization image and to generate leads for the new business efforts.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • CTFA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years Trust Administrative experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of Trust and tax regulations and principals, compliance and other matters required
  • Understanding of investment concepts and products available in the service market is preferred.
  • Business Development experience preferred.

Abilities, Skills and Work Conditions:

  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional work environment is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
