Executive Chef Position At Furman University's Timmons Arena

The Executive Chef at Furman University's Timmons Arena is responsible for leading all culinary operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining compliance with Compass Group standards and university expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and execution for events and daily service
• Develops and implements seasonal and special event menus aligned with corporate and client standards
• Trains and mentors kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety, sanitation, and equipment use
• Maintains inventory levels and controls food and labor costs to achieve financial targets
• Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
• Establishes cleaning, maintenance, and operational schedules to uphold safety and quality standards
• Partners with management and client teams to deliver an exceptional dining experience
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience
• 35 years of progressive kitchen or culinary management experience
• Proven ability to manage high-volume, multi-event foodservice operations
• Strong culinary knowledge with a focus on menu innovation, cost control, and presentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and related software
• Extensive catering experience preferred
• ServSafe certification highly desirable
